The Great Sperm Race Title Screen
The Great Sperm Race is a Casual game on the Johnny Two Shoes site. It is the first game created for Channel 4 and Wellcome Trust. It is JTS's 13th game.
Gameplay[]
The game focuses on human reproduction. You play as a single sperm trying to fertilize an egg. The controls are these: up arrow key to move forward, left and right to turn, and spacebar to zoom out and view the entire level.
Levels[]
There are four levels in The Great Sperm Race.
Level 1: Vagina[]
This level takes place in the vagina. The point is to get through the maze without touching the walls (the sides of the vagina are coated with a deadly acid). On this level, there are 250,000,000 sperm and the player has a max 50 seconds to complete the level.
Level 2: Cervix[]
The second level is placed in the Cervix. It is a long maze, and you have to get through it without dying. The only danger here is leukocytes, which eat sperm. There are now only 65 thousand sperm and the player has a maximum 80 seconds in which to complete the level.
Level 3: Uterus[]
The penultimate level takes place here. The sperm has to get to the end of the uterus, where the baby's sex will be determined. There are some leukocytes in this level as well. There are also only 2,000 sperm left in the race and the player has to complete the level in 40 seconds.
Level 4: Fallopian Tubes[]
In this level, sperm undergo capacitation (the ability to fertilize the egg). Nutrients have to be collected to delay capacitation until the egg appears. There are 20 sperm in this level and it has to be completed in one and a half minutes.
Medals[]
The Great Sperm Race has 13 medals. Decreasing in value, they are:
Fertilised: (100) Complete the journey to the egg!
Only the Fittest: (70) Complete the journey without dying.
Supermans Sperm: (50) Rush through 5 Leukocytes without getting killed in a single stage.
Safety: (40) Avoid all Leukocytes in the Cervix.
Speed Stage 1: (30) Beat Stage 1 in less than 21 seconds.
Speed Stage 2: (30) Beat Stage 2 in less than 27 seconds.
Speed Stage 3: (30) Beat Stage 3 in less than 17 seconds.
Speed Stage 4: (30) Beat Stage 4 in less than 69 seconds.
Leukocyte Dash: (20) Speed through a Leukocyte without getting killed.
Alkaline: (20) Steer clear of acid in Stage 1.
Detox: (20) Collect every nutrient in the Fallopian tube at least once.
It's a Boy!: (5) Complete the Chromosome puzzle with the boy outcome.
It's a Girl!: (5) Complete the Chromosome puzzle with the girl outcome.
